The Faculty of Musical Performing represents the heart of the National University of Music from Bucharest. For more than a century and a half, the pulse of this salient organism of Romanian higher education in music has made possible the assertion and establishment of noteworthy musicians, who have gained national and international recognition: singers, artists, musicians and lyrical artists who have achieved a high level of performance in their careers, but who were able to also acquire teaching skills. All over the world you can meet outstanding romanian musicians, former students of our faculty.

The Faculty of Musical Performing opens its doors to all who have the necessary training and the hope that music can give meaning to their lives. Would you like to follow the courses of the faculty? You can attend four years of undergraduate and two-year master studies. The diplomas awarded by our faculty are on par with those obtained in any great European capital. Academic exchanges organized by the University’s Erasmus + programme attests Romania’s and the University’s membership to the European space.

In the processes of institutional assessment, our University received a "high degree of confidence". You have every reason to join the Faculty of Musical Performing. Review the entrance guidelines and enroll in the admission competitions for each of the university studies cycles.

Day courses attended at the Faculty of Musical Performing comprise both specialized subjects as well as theoretical subjects, which lead to a better and more profound understanding of the musical phenomenon. The dynamism of contemporary society forces us to have a constant preoccupation for the future career of the student. The curricula contain compulsory subjects and electives capable of addressing both the growing and varied demands, required by the labour market on a global level, as well as the differentiated skills of students. In order to ensure that the quality of the education is high we adopt high and consistent standards in the teaching and assessment process.

The Faculty of Musical Performing provides countless opportunities for assertion of young musicians by organizing artistic events with visible impact. We have three big concert-halls, and also through various associate-agreements and partnerships with the main cultural institutions from Bucharest and other towns we provide important oportunities for the affirmation of our students.

Through the direct contact with life on stage and through the accumulated wealth of theoretical knowledge, the years of undergraduate and post-graduate studies will lead to a fascinating inner journey toward perfection. For the undergraduate studies, the two specializations in which Romanian or foreign citizens may enroll are the following:

  • Musical Interpretation – Instrumental performance (piano, organ, harpsichord, violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, harp, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, pan-pipe, accordion)
  • Musical Interpretation – Vocal performance

During the master’s studies there is the instrumental specialization as well as the vocal specialization in the Interpretative stylistics masters, including specific subject matters.

Beyond the administrative organization, we are confident that those who will step into the hallowed halls of our faculty will feel at home in a cultural and artistic environment, elevated with the assistance of the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach. All these will stimulate the desire for knowledge and will cultivate confidence, self-esteem, love of beauty and passion for music.
