The department provides individual training for student-conductors (orchestra/choir), individual general piano training, individual choral singing training and group courses of choral singing for the faculty’s students. The department coordinates the sacred music domain, providing education and research especially in the Byzantine and Gregorian Chant tradition. Different projects enable the students to conduct different student-ensembles (orchestras and choirs) or to share their experience with professional orchestras in the region. The Byzantine choir Psalmodia is also coordinated by this department.
